Code Geass R2 – 08

May 29, 2008

Its so hard to do screep cap so I won’t do one. I’ll just comment on the episode and that will be that.
All I can say about this episode is…that it makes me want to see episodee 9 so much more. I’m really excited to see as to what actions Suzaku will take next. I really feel his morales has gone astray and that he really doesn’t know who and/or what he is fighting for. Unlike Mr. Zero who knows fully well what he is fighting for and his resolution is absolute. I was soo amazed at the 1 million Zeros, I thought that was the highlight of the season..hahah. Don’t you guys think so? It was amazing how they thought of that idea. Also, the fact that they brought up some philosophical questions like what defines culture, ethnicity and so on and so forth. When you think about it, if you really are true to your country it should not matter where you are and who you live with..I’m not going to elaborate on that since we all have our own opinions. Anyway apparantly the next episode won’t be showing until 2-3 more weeks due to the quake in China..I don’t know what the connection is but it seems like Japanese network are so very cautious with things like that…I don’t know I don’t keep up with the news. So yah, let’s just hope next episode takes us to a different level of high. hehe

Shannon Mckenna – Edge of Midnight

May 21, 2008

Edge of Midnight

This one I think had the best plot of all the Mcloud series. To be honest, after I read this book I felt really exhilirated. To sum it all up, I felt really intense from start to finish. The bad guys were surely intense and Sean Mcloud was intense despite having seen him more of a happy go lucky person in previous books. I felt really connected to him rather than the other brothers, I think Sean is my favorite and then Davy.

Anyway Edge of Midnight (EoM as I will call it from now on) is really fast paced, its nothing different from her previous work so its a fast read. The sex in intensified of course to go along with the intense story line, but I think the dialogues were funnier in Extreme Danger. There was one thing that left me hanging though, what really really happened to Kevin. I really want to know because in EoM there seemed to be a hint that Kevin is alive? I’m referring to the Kite that Sean noticed while the two of them visited the old janitor. I also felt a connection with Liv, very strong but fragile thing. I, however hated her parents at first although I got to like her dad ONLY in the end but I could never forgive her mother. She so annoyed me, this kind of annoyance is nothing compared to the annoyance I felt for Raine’s mother.

I really enjoyed this book a whole lot. So I give this book an A ^__^

Mary Balogh – Simply Magic

May 21, 2008

Before I must resume to my duty to wash my laundry I must first write a review of the book I was recently reading. I must say I found myself quite enchanted by what I was reading and got lost in it that I forgot what time of the day it was. I finished the book all in one day, but of course not without interuptions.

I’ve always loved Mary Balogh’s books. Always and forever I think. There is just something about her novels that compels me, not only because they tell tales of Love but because of its entirety. I believe I was born in the wrong time, I think I was intended to be born sometime when all the Dukes and Duchess were still popular. I really ought to have been born at that time, it seemed like a lovely time to have to live in.

Anyway, back to my review. I have just read Simply Magic a story of which took place somewhere in England. A story between a  teacher, Ms. Susanna Osbourne and a Viscount, Peter Edgeworth. Two very different world come to meet and soon they find themselve friends and not long after lovers. For a time they both denied that what the feel for each other is more than a friendship. After a long while of ‘accidental’ meetings, they soond find themselves admitting to each other that they cannot bear to see each other dancing with another.

I felt really really really excited when I first picked up this book. I have been keeping up with the series that started with One Night of Love. I was also very happy to have read familiar names such as the Bedwyns which appeared in almost all the series. Also some name that I had long forgotten, Lauren and Kit. Her books are all consistent; the time, characters, and the place and settings. That is what I admire most about her really: her ability to be consistent. Everything just falls right into place, for example the story with Morgan and Alleyne Bedwyn. If you look back you would have noticed that Alleyne was indeed in Morgan’s story right at the very end. I have only come to the realization of that after I have read Alleyne’s story.

Oh such wonderful stories they were!!!!!

I really have to stop writing like this. hahaha.

Anyway I enjoyed Susanna and Peter’s story so much that I just had to buy another book…it’s not within the Simly… series but its of another one that was previously written by her. I think it was just a reprint. Anyway the story never gets old since its already written to be a historical romance. Even if I read it over and over again I don’t think I’d get wary of it. Anyway I’m off to the other novel from the the Gilded Web series. Wish me luck and I hope to keep myself at bay from the Bookstore..I really should stop spending…or else I’d be broke again tomorrow.

Anime and Manga that are worth watching

May 7, 2008

It seems that lately I have been engrossed in my manga reading/anime watching past-time. I haven’t been doing anything aside from school and work. haha. Anyways I’ve become really addicted to anime again after a two years abstinence from it. (muahaha) So let’s get to it, I think quite a few people have heard some of these title already but I still want to put my review on them.

I shall start with the manga’s that I am currently reading. Right now I am awaiting and SEARCHING for manga scans for DESIRE CLIMAX. It’s not H…e..n..you get the point. Its ECCHI (kinda sounds like sketchy) which means lots of sexual content (I have just recently learned from reading these kind of shoujo manga that ECCHI means “to make love” ^__^). I am also reading LOVE MONSTER which falls under the same category, however its not as intense as the former title.

DESIRE CLIMAX has a really good plot to it. There’s actually a lot of substance in the story which keeps you going. For some people, it may just be another perverted manga but the story makes up for all the perviness. Honestly I thought at first it was all going to be ‘this and that’ but the story is THICK! I’ll break it down for ya. The main character, Mio is of poor family she has a sick mother who is in the hospital, and a younger brother, who suffers from sister complex. She is forced to work since she has to support her family. One day a Man steals a kiss from her and he tells her that he “bought” her and she is not HIS property.

RIght now the story already sounds good, but wait…the guy who stole the kiss from her is none other than their landlord’s son! So now she has to work as a maid in his household. How sad eh? aha, but get this Prince (the main guy) does unthinkable sexual stuff to Mio…oddly enough whenever she says NO he still keeps going and it happens quiet alot in this series. She learns to love him in the end.

haha. Substance eh? Some people might think not. Anyways if you’re looking for a good SHOJOU manga to read you definitely have to try this.

Screenshots can be seen if you simply scroll down to the end of the post. (Don’t get a nose bleed now)

——

So we move on to the next semi-ecchi manga I was talking about, “Love Monster”. Its a good anime for real, also got substance. THe story is quite intresting and the love story is cute. You’d never believe how young mangakas draw their heroine these days. *shakes head* I wish they’d make them look more feminine like Mio in Desire Climax…honestly.

Anyway the story revolves around Hiyo, a normal girl who is fate to enter a not so normal school. She is rejected from the highschool she applied to..why well cuz she failed the entrance exam. She mopes around and finds out that she is invited to attend school at SM High.  Turns out SM stands for St. Monster so all of the student attending are monsters. Especially the student union president, he’s a Crow the highest rankend monster in the Monster World. He announces to the whole school that Hiyo is to become his wife. After that a whole series of events follows as we travel along the path of Hiyo and Kouro’s romance. (ehhh?!) isn’t that romantic.

I might add as a side note…I’ve become quite the pervert after reading these titles. *shame on me* Irregardles, the story is really quite entertaining.

Now..let’s see Okay so I will leave the ecchi manga aside and go to the Action type now. I’m both supporters of shoujo and shonen type anime. I like having best of both worlds. I’m sure you’ve heard D. Gray Man, there’s nothing new there aside from the fact that the new chapters are getting really really interesting. I find myself getting really anxious as I wait for the next release of the newest chapter…I’m fidgeting with angst right now. It’s really hard to control which is why I started looking for something else to read to occupy my time. See D. Gray Man was a rebound anime for me, since I was having Gakuen Alice withdrawal.

D. Gray Man RoX my boxers…for real.

Okay so after suffering from yey another withdrawal I had to find another anime to satisfy my hunger, so I tried watching Vampire Knight. Sure enough I was hooked..stupid hot looking anime guys WHY WHY?! Aren’t real men enough to give me a Myocardial Infarction? (Reminds me of Choi Siwon all of a sudden) So as the the name states, this anime is about Vampires. Story is really good and the characters have lots of good points to them. I think you guys will like it.

I now turn your attention to Gakuen Alice, a strangely cute anime with a good plot. Before I was soooo over reluctant to try out this anime but ALAS you should not judge a book by its cover. The animation gave me the impression that it would be one of those animes like Sister Princess or Mahoromatic…not at all. This anime was so good I had to read the manga after watching the anime. So now I suffer from it because they come out with new chapters ever 2nd of the month (I think, that’s what I’ve read)……

So there you have it…my long suffering. Anime kills me everytime, I even got excited watching Okane Ga nai…wahhhh o.O (I’ll leave you to search it up I’m too embarassed) and Jonjou Romantica…sigh* shojou is just too much for my heart. I think I will have a heart attack one day. One of these days…
